Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
I'm writing today as we drive back to Hanoi after spending the past two days on a cruise on Ha Long Bay. Ha Long Bay is one of those "must visit" locations everyone who visits seems to rave about, so we made sure to plan that into this trip! I'd have to say, it lived up to its reputation, even with less than perfect weather.
We booked our cruise on a small boat that only had 13 passengers, each of us with a surprisingly nice little cabin, complete with queen size bed and a full bath :-) Our guide picked us at our hotel in Hanoi, and we were then pampered continuously for the next two days- particularly with food! We even ate jellyfish salad (below)...
But the main reason people come to Ha Long is the scenery, and that was truly amazing
In addition to eating and watching the scenery pass by the boat, we got to go kayaking, caving, and visited a floating fishing village. Pretty cool!
Next up is another short out and back overnight to Nihn Bihn :-)
Cheers!
